Nine Inch Nails' The Slip

If you didn't hear, Nine Inch Nails are giving away their new album in various non-DRM formats under a creative commons attribution non-commercial share alike license. You can get it on The Slip website for zero dollars and zero cents. It's the same style as Year Zero from what I can tell so far.

Hallelujah Lyrics by Jeff Buckley

I heard there was a secret chord
That david played and it pleased the Lord,
But you don't really care for music, do you?
Well it goes like this: the fourth, the fifth
The minor fall and the major lift.
The baffled king composing hallelujah.

iPod Shuffle Commercial Song : Caesars - Jerk It Out
Posted by Robert on the 11th of February, 2005 at 2:20 AM GMT0. Permalink.Tags: Apple, iPod, Music, Random
Update: I've been getting a lot of hits this month that I think are looking for the newest iPod Shuffle commercial song (the one airing circa November 2006). For those of you looking for information about that, it is Who's Gonna Sing? by a French band called Prototype. You can check out their MySpace page if you want to hear the song. It's in French; so, I'm not posting lyrics.

Cory Haim

The Thrills wrote a song called Whatever Happened To Cory Haim?. Terri Psiakis was discussing (in relation to the song) Cory Feildman (who used to hang out with Cory Haim) and the Michael Jackson trial of 2005. I started googling for Cory Haim, and found this question that was probably prompted by the song. It turns out you can just check Cory Haim's IMDB page if you really want to know what happened to him.

Once again, I noticed Windows Media Player offered a free listen to an entire album. Since I had so much fun with the first one, I decided to do it again.

Lindsey Lohan
Posted by Robert on the 6th of December, 2004 at 6:00 PM GMT0. Permalink.Tags: Music
Windows Media occasionally has entire albums for stream for free. Today was one such time. I tend to listen just to see. This time was Lindsey Lohan's new album. It was pretty shit house. I highly suggest not getting this album. Every song had a certain a pop-standard build up with cheesy lines. What's worse is that on several songs, the writer(s) thought it would be a good idea to use heavy "paradoxes" like loudly silent or silently loud. And, of course, really shitty predictable lines.

Without You I'm Nothing

Strange infatuation seems to grace the evening tide
I'll take it by your side
Such imagination seems to help the feeling slide
I'll take it by your side
Instant correlation sucks and breeds a pack of lies
I'll take it by your side
Over-saturation curls the skin and tans the hide
I'll take it by your side
I'm unclean a libertine
And every time you vent your spleen
I seem to lose the power of speech
Your slipping slowly from my reach
You grow me like an evergreen
You never see the lonely me at all
I take the plan, spin it sideways
I Fall
Without you, I'm nothing
Without you, I'm nothing
Without you, I'm nothing
Take the plan, spin it sideways
Without you, I'm nothing at all

I ♥ MOON

Yesterday afternoon, Alex, Keith and I headed to Atlanta to catch Air (A French Band) playing at the Earthlink Lounge. After some problems with directions (It is a good idea to click the MapQuest button! Thanks to Bryan for cleaning up the mess.), we pulled into a parking spot (for free) a block from the venue. We explored the venue, got kicked out for being early, then stopped by Starbucks for a snack (I had my first scone).
Gotye and Updates
Posted by Robert on the 18th of February, 2004 at 2:40 AM GMT0. Permalink.Tags: Love Order Light, Music
I e-mailed a guy who records music as Gotye (kinda like Trent records music as Nine Inch Nails). He has a song they are playing on Triple J. It's called The Only Thing I Know. It's really pretty, even at 20 kbs. So, I e-mailed him to see where/if I could get a copy of his album. He suggested I get it through him, and was pleased to know that someone was listening across the world.

Centipede Safekeeper

So, I was listening to Triple J, an Australian radio station, as I do almost every day. I head this song, and didn't think much of it. I heard it again later, and realized I really liked it. It turns out that the band is called Centipede and they are from Australia. Further, their CD hasn't been released. They have a single of the song, Safekeeper, out. So, I start looking. I find nothing.
