Pairing Motorola H700 And Mac OS X 10.4

When I decided to drive to Portland I figured it'd be nice to talk to people while I drove 15 hours. I wanted to get a decent headset for my phone, a Motorola Razr V3. Since I hate my phone, I wanted to either get a decent bluetooth kit (to use elsewhere) or a cheap wired kit (that I could toss out later). Bluetooth won out. Since it used the same charger as the Razr (mini-usb), the Motorola H700 was an obvious choice. Finding that I don't really use it for the Razr was a drag. But, I have bluetooth on my Mac...

As you may have heard, the iBook was quietly replaced with the MacBook. Likewise, the PowerBook has been replaced by the MacBook Pro. While the MacBooks were released, the MacBook Pro got a speed bump.

My wounds are healing and my obsessions are subsiding with each passing day. I might be slowly finishing the back end of my site, and then I can put it down for awhile and involve myself in something else.

There is always some amount of construction going on in Los Angeles. Since L.A. isn't confined by natural borders, the first inclination was to sprawl. This is why L.A. is so large, and is slowly assimilating areas that used to be distinct towns (e.g. Hollywood, Santa Monica, Compton). Essentially all of L.A. county is part of L.A. city, as far as I can tell. When New York City hit its boundaries, it started growing vertically upwards. L.A. seems to take a different approach. All the building projects I've seen recently grow vertically downward before they grow upward...

iPod Shuffle Commercial Song : Caesars - Jerk It Out

Update: I've been getting a lot of hits this month that I think are looking for the newest iPod Shuffle commercial song (the one airing circa November 2006). For those of you looking for information about that, it is Who's Gonna Sing? by a French band called Prototype. You can check out their MySpace page if you want to hear the song. It's in French; so, I'm not posting lyrics.

C'mon Big Money

Apple unleashed the upgrades to the PowerMac G5s today. It is a mere 19 days to WWDC. I wonder why they didn't wait? Usually, they pull big things out on WWDC, not just a demo of the new OS. Maybe the OS is spectacular? Maybe it will cook waffles for me in the morning.

iPod + RX-8

I purchased my 20 GB iPod just 20 minutes ago. I also got a car charger. Now the trip to Colorado will be so much better. The sales person tried to sell me the Applecare warranty. While it would be nice, I don't anticipate any problems, except with the battery. However, I reckon the guy was wrong when he said "it's a bugaboo for 95%" of the people who bought one. I told him the replacement batteries were about the same price, so I wasn't worried. He tried to inform me that it wasn't user replaceable. I launched into a coughing fit at that point, so I gave him the thumbs up sign. That could have been interpreted as "Okay" or "Most users are sheep." I have no qualms with popping open devices. If I did, I would have spent a shit ton of money on time installing parts on my machines. It's not like I have to worry about voiding the warranty, since I didn't buy one.

Mac FYI

It turns out that there IS a reason to not take apart your eMac. That reason is that it's very difficult. I didn't take pictures. You didn't miss anything. I SAW the hard drive that I want to replace. Getting to it will be another story. If I wanted to change out my SuperDrive, it would be no problem. But I don't.

And I finally got sick of having to double check my server every time I want to listen to music. I copied all my important files off of it. I plan on (hopefully) sticking this other drive in the eMac until I can get a 160 GB or 200 GB HDD. That will make a world of difference.
